I dropped by a small exhibition at Bermondsey Project Space, curated by Philippa Beale.

The works address a space, spatial memories or meaning.
Some are realistic, some are dream-like.
The show description says - "The term 'A Sense of Place' is used to describe how someone perceives and experiences a place or environment and can be used and understood in many ways".

There are some interesting working in a way of their ideas and visual decisions.

Amazon Prime Cut (2022) - Lesley and Nigel Slight @Bermondsey Project Space (2023)

Amazon Prime Cut by Lesley and Nigel Slight caught the eyes from the outside of the project space.
Obviously, it shows the environmental crisis in the Amazon forest.
I liked the idea that they share their inspirations and materials as a part of the message.

Jo Minoprio and Howard Phipps @Bermondsey Project Space (2023)

Ferha Farooqui @Bermondsey Project Space (2023)

The religious painting style and the pictures of contemporary life make a captivating comparison.
The contrast between the two scenes, colours are also interesting.

Nahem Shoa @Bermondsey Project Space (2023)
Marguerite Horner @Bermondsey Project Space (2023)

Beautiful expression of wave.

Kerry Harding @Bermondsey Project Space (2023)
Windfalls - La tombee du ciel (2018) by Philippa Beale @Bermondsey Project Space (2023)

The work of Philippa Beale who also curated this show.
The materiality of apple has done quite interestingly.
It immediately gives the impression of broken, fallen apples.
Different shades and colours, macerated surfaces, seem to embrace the time.
